Meet Rui
Rui César Silva is a Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) professional and a Senior Product Lifecycle Management Consultant at ValGenesis.
He is responsible for the technical execution of projects designed to generate value for customers by addressing the life sciences industry’s current product and process challenges. Rui is dedicated to supporting biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in advancing their process development, modelling, and industrialization projects. With over 8 years of experience in R&D, process engineering, and tech transfer, Rui has a strong background in particle engineering, process intensification, computational fluid dynamics, chemical process modeling, data science, and sterile manufacturing.
Before joining ValGenesis, Rui worked with pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMO) for more than six years, holding key roles in knowledge management and R&D in both the drug substance and drug product spaces. He also co-authored over 20 scientific papers for international peer-reviewed journals, served as a special issue guest editor for MDPI, a publisher of open-access scientific journals, and tutored several master and PhD students on particle size reduction and hollow-fiber crystallization technologies. Rui’s mission is to enable innovation and excellence in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry by applying his expertise and passion in chemical engineering and data science.
