The Business Development team is a critical bridge between marketing and sales. They are responsible for responding to inbound, initiating outbound, creatively sourcing new leads, and ultimately driving valuable pipeline. This phone-based role needs a leader that understands the value of fast response times, creative communication, and adhering to standard KPIs for performance. And a coach that can guide scripts, refine communication strategies, and support as where and when needed.
What You'll be doing (Responsibilities):
Lead and manage a team of globally distributed phone-based employees with a focus on meeting set targets
Lead the hiring and onboarding of future Business Development Representatives in partnership with the People Operations Team (HR)
Coach team on tactics of lead qualification and outbound communication including but not limited to: script writing, email cadence, unique localization opportunities, etc.
Actively measure the performance of team members and hold them accountable to set targets
Prepare (and improve) reports and analytics about team performance
When necessary, update marketing and sales systems with details of phone calls and lead outreach. Ensure data is accurate for use by sales team
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to provide candid, clear feedback on lead quality, marketing channel quality, and process effectiveness
Participate in ongoing training to stay up to date with products and solutions
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
3 - 5 years' experience in a call center or other role where the majority of work was spent speaking with customers, prospects or partners over the phone. Business development is a phone-centric role and experience in this is mandatory
3 - 5 years' experience leading teams (including training, mentorship, coaching, and management) in a call center or comparable role
Comfort with a blended base-plus-commission salary and desire to hit targets
Experience with implementing and assessing analytics to make metrics-based decisions and interpretations
